My Blog - Coming Soon

Topics

Thank you

The idea for this blog started as a public way to thank the many angels who accompanied me on my VBAC journey.  The first tranche of posts will be all about these fabulous guys and gals.  Mostly gals - let's be serious.  The unhelpful folks are getting a shout out too.  I'm less of a pain in the ass to my pregnant friends because of them.

Not Medical Advice

DISCLAIMER.  I have no medical training.  But, obviously part of this blog is about others benefiting from my experiences.  I've already shared it on my local mommy boards, so I'll share it again here. I am dedicating these posts to my friends who shared *horrifying* birth stories (that thankfully had happy endings) when I was pregnant. Because that's *exactly* what a pregnant lady wants to hear.

Nerding Out

Why is it that I got 4 different answers when I asked 4 different clinicians about my VBAC?  Birthing advice shouldn't feel like I am asking a stylist about highlights. Some blogs will link to relevant articles, include guidance on how to decipher ratings and quality scores, reference the latest research and maybe feature interviews with big brains.  I'll also draw on my 20+ years in the business. Spoiler alert: I am not going to rate or comment directly on any local provider.

About Me

I'm JS Mora, the author of Baby Got VBAC. Thank you for visiting! Here's a bit about me:

  • I've got two kids, both born in the DC-Metro area (DC-Maryland-Virginia = DMV) within the last 5 years.  The experiences couldn't have been more different. I am grateful for their health and mine.
  • I deeply admire women who had unmedicated births; both of my births were in a hospital.  I would have gotten my epidural in the parking lot if they offered it.
  • My birth plan was healthy baby, healthy mom (following by a page of detailed instructions).
  • Did I end up being one of the 00001% of women in the DMV who actually had a VBAC? You'll have to keep reading!
